Why are HDR photos rejected?
This tool supports standard dynamic range (SDR) sRGB and selected Display P3 images. Recognized HDR transfer functions or gain-map metadata are rejected before pixel decoding. Unsupported or inconsistent color information is also rejected. This is not HDR tone mapping and does not support every iPhone photo.
What changes when I convert?
The result is an 8-bit sRGB JPG. Display P3 is converted to sRGB, orientation is applied once, and transparency becomes white. Only the primary still image is converted. Original GPS, camera, depth and Live Photo data are not copied. Browsers may add their own color or size metadata. JPG is lossy and may be larger than HEIC.
What are the limits?
One HEVC HEIC/HEIF file, at most 10 MiB (10,485,760 bytes), 16 million pixels and 8192 pixels per side. 1 MiB means 1,048,576 bytes. Files are checked by their contents, not just their extensions. Sequences, HDR, unknown color profiles, AVIF and damaged files are not supported. A conversion that exceeds the 20-second limit will not produce a download. Try a smaller image if it times out. No automatic resizing or cloud fallback.
How do I save the JPG on my phone?
Tap Download JPG and check browser downloads or the Files app. Open JPG offers another viewing/saving route. System file pickers may supply a different format from the original. If a download opens a preview, use your browser’s save or share menu. Check the saved file before using it.
Are my files uploaded or kept?
No. Conversion runs in your browser. Files, names and results are not sent or stored by this tool. Changing files, clearing, or leaving releases the result. Switching away cancels active conversion. Optional feedback, analytics and support have separate controls; see Privacy.
